Empires Mirror:
Echosystems of Code and Flesh.
Machine oracles conjure speculative ecologies woven from code and memory. Sacred maps glitch and breathe in dialogue with our digital doppelgängers. Queer aesthetics, indigenous futurisms, and hallucinated archives entwine across boundaries, tracing how generative AI – empires mirror – dreams of preservation even as the planet trembles beneath our collective dance.
Works by Lorelei d'Andriole, Michael Borowski, Karl Erickson, Edgar Fabián Frías, Eddie Lohmeyer, Michael Mersereau, Freya Björg Olafson, Dana Potter, Drew Sisk, Sarah Turner.
Curated by Zen Cohen.
Open Air Media Festival.

AR Collections Response
From its founding in 1925, the Mills College Art Museum has been a forum for exploring art and ideas and a laboratory for contemporary art practices, serving as a hub for artistic experimentation. In celebration of the museum's centennial, 100 Years of Creative Visions features an inter-generational and cross-cultural selection of major works from the permanent collection that emphasizes creative communities and the importance of artist friendships.
The exhibition will feature augmented reality (AR) responses to the artwork from Bay Area artists Indira Allegra, Sanaz Mazinani, Michael Mersereau, Genevieve Quick, Kate Rhoades, and Cate White.
