Sound Replacement for Dario Argento's Suspiria
single channel video, 08:14, 2012
“Sound Study for Suspiria,” is a structural-surrealist video which replaces the original audio and pounding soundtrack of Dario Argento’s “Suspira” (1977) by matching every scene of the full length film with room tone and field recordings from the San Francisco Bay Area and Montreal, Quebec. The result is an anachronistic audio experience that highlights Argento’s directorial techniques while at the same time elevates suspense over horror.
